From being the first Houston native R&B singer to encourage recovery from heartbreaks to evolving into a nationally known sensitive savage, Alexis Finley is the rose that grew from the concrete. With her international hit single “All Me” becoming the self-paid self-made women’s anthem, Alexis released her EP Beautiful Ones on March 18, 2022. She then debuted her singles with a performance on March 19th at the Erica Banks’ official after party for the Summer Walker concert. Joined by professional dancers to complement her vocals, Alexis breaks stigmas and inspires a spirit of victory through her stage presence.
Many would describe her music as the voice of empowerment with some oomph in it. In honor of Women’s History Month, “Beautiful Ones” is a statement EP to remind listeners that competition with others is a mirage and to create your own lane.
“I release music geared towards my women because each song illustrates the many sides of a woman,” stated Alexis. “This project expresses what women go through to become successful in business and love when establishing their overall influence. This is my gift to women while showcasing every part of me.”
On March 15, 2022, On Tha Radar podcast founded by “Radio Boss” Hardbody Kiotti with 937 The Beat Houston hosted her private listening party for influencers, producers, DJs and club owners. Each person in the room agreed they could see her music played in their place of business and blend well in their music sets.
“We’re definitely going to do everything we can to help support and push the movement,” stated Kiotti. “We want everybody to embrace and love on her because she’s a special one.”
Coming strong on her tracks with an unforgettable sound, Alexis is saying how she feels with no filter. Her music creates a space for vulnerability while waking up the boss in you. Her show set demonstrates a different level of creativity and something Houston hasn’t seen or heard before.
“I grew up in an era where R&B divas commanded the stage with not only their sex appeal, but with live vocals, choreography and storytelling,” stated Alexis. “I can’t wait to give my city memorable performances and share the stage with future legendary musical geniuses.”
