Both of Hawaii Yoga Institute’s updated courses are taught in person, including an all-inclusive full immersion program in Fall 2022, which is now open for Early Bird Registration.
HYI’s advanced training program has been developed for yoga students who have already completed the foundation program and would like to expand their skills and knowledge base for a fully accredited qualification from The Yoga Alliance. The foundation course requires applicants to provide evidence of at least 16 hours of previous study before they can be accepted onto the course, as well as evidence of good spoken English. Newcomers are also encouraged to come to classes in a good frame of mind, as the training is both mental and physical, and the team strive to create a safe learning environment for all students.
The 300-hour advanced course is provided in person on Hakalau Big Island at a private center, and goes beyond studying poses to take a closer look at how yoga works with anatomy, how it can affect the nervous system, and a fundamental study of the biomechanics involved. In addition to furthering students’ yoga study, the program provides a unique opportunity to work with teachers who have built successful yoga businesses of their own. During the course, students will learn how to expand and refine their yoga business according to their preferences and receive valuable guidance on how to develop their own individual yoga practice in order to offer their clients and community a more personal service.
Hawaii Yoga Institute is currently accepting applicants for the advanced 300-hour course, which is divided into three modules to help students to develop between each and apply their learnings to their business. Each module is 100 hours in length and takes place across August to September, October, and January, each lasting 12 days with a one-day break in the middle.
