Creative Director From School of Motion Talks Voice Over in Graphics

The worldwide marketplace for voice-overs, Voices, has released a new episode of their popular Voice Branding podcast hosted by David Ciccarelli.

In the new episode, David Ciccarelli, Voices’ CEO & co-founder, speaks to Kyle Hamrick, the Creative Director at the School of Motion. Titled ‘Audio in Motion Graphics with Kyle Hamrick’, the podcast discusses how more and more creatives are choosing motion graphics over live video, and how this rise in popularity is also shifting the emphasis from live action performers to voice-over artists.

The release of the new episode coincides with the latest figures on the motion graphic market, which, according to Persistence Market Research, is anticipated to grow at a significant compound annual growth rate of 12.5% in the coming decade.

Driven by the proliferation of motion graphics on digital and social media platforms, Persistence’s research indicates that brands, businesses and marketing agencies will continue to make increasing use of the technology.

As Hamrick explains, motion graphics are everywhere. They are in the intro sequence of the latest big Netflix show, on the last Instagram ad everyone saw, part of the live visuals that go behind popular performers at their concerts, and what makes up the NFL score interstitial pieces. In essence, any visual content that is not filmed footage is motion graphics.

As an Emmy Award-winning motion designer, video editor and Adobe-certified software trainer fluent in the use of After Effects and Premier, Hamrick shares his creative design process and offers his interpretation of the state of the industry in the podcast.

Given Voices’ position as the world’s largest marketplace for voice-over talent, the podcast also delves into the interrelationship of motion graphics and audio content. As both Ciccarelli and Hamrick attest, motion graphics rely on voice over as it is an essential component of the final product that must tie in with the visual aesthetic created and give meaning to the illustrated and animated elements.

In the new episode, Hamrick reveals that it is often the voice of the actor that inspires his creation and he stresses how important the perfect voice read is to creative directors like himself.

‘Audio in Motion Graphics with Kyle Hamrick’ is the latest episode of the Voice Branding podcast with David Ciccarrelli. Voices is proud to be at the forefront of the audio and voice-over industry and their mission is to partner creative directors like Kyle Hamrick with exceptional voice talent.

A spokesperson for the talent marketplace said, “On this episode we have Kyle Hamrick, the Creative Director at the School of Motion. Kyle and David discuss all things motion graphics, who’s using them, how and when. Creatives are choosing motion graphics over live video, so we discuss the interplay of the use of voice-over as well. You won’t want to miss this one.”
