Ahead of the holiday season, Aardvark Automotive in Amarillo will once again donate a vehicle to a deserving Amarillo resident, through Wheels to Prosper Initiative.

Aardvark Automotive, a full-service auto repair business based in Amarillo since 1980, announces that they are once again participating in the Wheels to Prosper car give away this fall.
From October 10, through November 18th, the public is invited to nominate a deserving individual in need of a safe, reliable vehicle. A panel of five judges will review all nominations. The winner will be announced on December 10, 2022, at 11:00 am.
According to Brandon Anderson, owner of Aardvark Automotive, “The nominations we receive each year inspire us. There are so many individuals who are working so hard to achieve their life goals-whether that is to give their children opportunities to succeed, or to pursue training to create a better life. Having a reliable, safe vehicle can make the road to achieving these goals easier to navigate. We are proud and honored to be a part of this program. We look forward to announcing our next winner, just in time for the holidays.”
Previous recipients have included single parents, parents of children with special needs, grandparents raising their grandchildren, students attending college, and families in need of a safe vehicle. The nomination form is available on Aardvark Automotive’s website.
This is the second time this year Aardvark Automotive will donate a used vehicle in good working condition to a deserving individual in the Amarillo community. In March 2022, Aardvark Automotive received a donated vehicle and replaced the spark plugs, window regulators, and performed oil and lube service with parts donated by O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. Amarillo Windshields donated a new windshield for the vehicle. Hub City Body Shop provided a new paint job free of charge. The vehicle was donated to a mother of two in the local area.
“The Wheels to Prosper program is a highlight for our whole team each year,” he said. “We love everything about participating in this program. It shines a light on the kindness and generosity of Amarillo residents. It truly is a communal effort. Someone from the public donates the vehicle. Then business owners throughout the community come together to donate time, supplies, and talent to help one of our neighbors who needs a bit of help. It speaks volumes about the wonderful people we get to call our friends and neighbors.
Aardvark Automotive was one of the first auto repair shops in the nation to join the Wheels to Prosper initiative when it launched in 2011. They have participated in the vehicle giveaway each year. “Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we made sure to donate a car. Our program was postponed, but we have never cancelled it,” Anderson said.
