Move Central has announced that they intend to continue their support for the non-profit organization Move for Hunger despite the current situation with the pandemic.
— One of San Diego’s favorite moving companies, Move Central Inc. has come to a decision to continue to support Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization aimed at reducing food waste and eradicating hunger. This non-profit connects moving companies that are willing to help move food from those who have it and don’t need it to those who do. Additionally, they also organize food drives and raise awareness about food waste on the one hand and hunger on the other, as well as the best way to manage it.
Move Central has had a relationship with Move for Hunger since 2016, and the company supports the non-profit several times a year, whenever called upon. One of the ways Move Central helps is by collecting non-perishable food items from people who are moving and no longer need them. The food is then distributed to Move for Hunger on a monthly or quarterly basis. During 2019, Move Central collected over 55,000 pounds of food, enough to make 46,250 meals for people in need.
“Move Central has been involved with Move for Hunger for about 4 years now. As a successful company, we felt that it was our duty to give back, and so we did. Last year, in particular, was very successful for our collaboration, with 3 full truckloads of food collected, enough for tens of thousands of meals,” says Stan Caramalac, the founder of Move Central Inc. It is in these trying times that we really need to help our friends and neighbors.”
