A local Plymouth, UK plumbing company is renaming the business to Plymouth Plumbers to mark the 400th anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower.
— Local based Plymouth company rename their plumbing business Plymouth Plumbers in the year of the Mayflower 400 celebrations to celebrate the historic event. Business Owner Anthony Reed said that this was the perfect year to mark the start of his own special voyage to take his business to new heights and serve more of the Plymouth community and the surrounding areas. Anthony said he was very proud to be a Plymothian and of the history of his home city.
The Mayflower transported the first English Puritans, or Pilgrims, to their new home in North America. The ship carried 102 passengers, as well as a crew of around 30. The destination was the Colony of Virginia, but the ship eventually landed at Cape Cod hook, in the harbour that is now called Provincetown Harbor, in Massachusetts. The Mayflower sailed from Plymouth on September 6th and anchored in the New World a little over two months later, on November 11th.
Mayflower 400 aims to celebrate the key date in the Mayflower’s history. The celebrations include various events both in Plymouth and internationally. They began with the Illuminate light shows in November 2019 and includes festivals, exhibitions, tours and more to offer 12 months’ of celebrations until November 2020. From September 14th to 20th, Mayflower Week in Plymouth will mark the date that the Mayflower set sail, while the Southampton Mayflower Maritime Festival will take place in August.
Plymouth Plumbers is owned by Anthony Reed, a Master Plumber who has a decade of experience in the industry. He set up his own company five years ago, offering a range of plumbing services. Plymouth Plumber customers can benefit from central heating services, boiler installation, repair, and servicing, bathroom fitting, emergency plumbing, and a range of other domestic and commercial plumbing services.
