Participants of the newly announced diamond auction are spoilt for choice with a rare selection of GIA-graded loose diamonds ranging from 1 carat to 17 carats from the largest diamond mines in the world. Each gem has been carefully selected for its properties along the 4Cs: color, clarity, cut, and carat weight.
GIA created the 4Cs as a universal method for establishing the quality of any diamond. With the 4Cs, diamond quality can be communicated in a global language so that diamond buyers know exactly what they are about to purchase.
Bid Global only selects diamonds of the highest quality. First, it looks at the diamond’s color, which is graded on how colorless the gem is. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond, for example, has no hue and is assigned a higher value.
Next, diamond clarity is determined. As its name suggests, this value refers to the absence of inclusions and blemishes. The GIA diamond clarity scale has six categories with flawless being the highest grade. This means that the gem has no inclusions and blemishes visible under 10x magnification.
The diamond cut is then evaluated. A gem’s sparkle and fire are often dependent on the cut. A wrongly cut gem can appear dim even if its color and clarity are of the highest quality. This is arguably the most complex to analyze as GIA calculates the proportions of the cut based on the diamond’s face-up appearance.
Lastly, Bid Global assesses how much the diamond weighs in carats. The heavier a diamond is, the rarer it is.
The new selection features gemstones of various colors and cuts, including round, oval, emerald, cushion, heart, and pear. Diamond pairs are also available.
Bid Global is recognized as the leader in the diamond auction industry and has maintained a reputation for integrity, experience, and knowledge. It has operated with passion since 1997.
