Earlier today, U.P. Behavior Consulting Ltd. finally announced the beginning of its new Overseas Online Supervision service, which has been in development since Dec 2020. The main aim is to provide overseas online supervision to families or behavior therapists who locate outside of Hong Kong…. but it does so, with a difference.
Ivy Chan, Director at U.P. Behavior Consulting Ltd., says: “We wanted to try something new with this Overseas Online Supervision service. COVID-19 has hit us hard. Anyone familiar with the Special Education sector will probably have noticed that due to COVID-19, services have been shut for well over 1 year. Under strict government restriction, It has been hard for parents with Autistic children to continue Home-based therapeutic service, and simply to provide online consultation to parents (i.e. parents training) isn’t the ultimate solution, hard to replace home-based therapy.”
So as a welcome breath of fresh air, U.P. Behavior Consulting Ltd. will instead provide online supervision to parents or behavior therapists who locate outside Hong Kong. Parents / behavioral therapist who received supervisions all have great progress. U.P. Behavior Consulting Ltd. chose to make this move because individualisation and especially focusing on parents training will ultimately help the child’s learning progression in the long run.
Ivy Chan also said “We want to give our customers the ultimate skill to generalise and apply on the skills previously acquired. Another goal is to have parents to be better equipped with knowledge and skills to further provide help and support to their child. With our new Overseas Online Supervision service, they have a fresh new possibility. We want them to feel confident in the overall program breakdown, therapeutic skills and effective behavioral management. Trying something new is always a risk, but it’s a risk we believe is worth taking.”
