Founded by the executive director, James L. McCormick II, Vets4Vet Leadership is a group of US veterans committed to strengthening the veteran voice in the Halls of Congress and supporting policies and actions that advance the principles of American security, strength, and respect.
James L. McCormick II actively served as a soldier in the US military for over 22 years and has advocated for veteran leadership in Congress for the past 12 years.
Bringing the veteran voice to Congress
“The number of veterans in Congress has dropped dramatically, from 77% of the Members of Congress having served in the armed forces in the late 1970’s, to just 17% today.
Veteran representation on Capitol Hill is now at its lowest point in US history. At the same time, America is facing some of its toughest challenges, both domestic and global, while Congress has become more polarized and gridlocked than ever before,” comments James L. McCormick II, executive director of Vets4Vet Leadership.
“America is at a crossroads; I believe this is reflected by how things are currently unraveling across our country. I believe the lack of elected officials who have previously served in our nation’s military is at the heart of this social and economic meltdown.”
