The environment at Paws was created by dog lover Trina to make her vision of a large piece of fenced-in land that would be safe for dogs to run and play a reality. Since dogs are expected to visit the camp two or more times per week, they soon become comfortable with the staff who re-train them out of bad habits. At the same time, the dogs build confidence around other dogs as they make friendships with their playmates.
According to information on the website, before a dog can become a regular visitor at the Ranch, Trina has a consultation with the owner and dog, preferably in the owner’s backyard. Once approved, the dog will be picked up and dropped off in the Ranch’s air-conditioned van on the agreed schedule.
