You’ve probably heard of the “side hustle” or a second job, but as an entrepreneur and business owner myself, I believe the concept needs to evolve. The side hustle of the past, like delivering pizzas on nights and weekends, isn’t going to cut it anymore. Entrepreneurs in the twenty-teens and beyond need to look at ways to monetize their assets in a new way.
You can start with one of these seven ideas or try something new. Whatever way works best for your lifestyle and goals is fine by us!
Affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn money on the side. Affiliate marketing is selling someone else’s product or service and getting paid for it. The most popular form of affiliate marketing involves promoting products through links, banners, and reviews.
You can find affiliate offers in many places — including social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter — but many of them are undervalued by merchants because they don’t pay enough for the effort required to publish these ads. But there’s no reason you should have trouble finding good deals if you know where to look!
Create and sell online courses
You can be something other than a New York Times bestseller or TED speaker to build an online course. If you are already a technical expert in any field and have something valuable to share, an online course can make money quickly.
● The first step is to create a clear and comprehensive outline that covers all aspects of your topic. Next, select a learning management system partner, such as Udemy, Skillshare, or Teachable, to help set up your course.
● Enter your teaching schedule and add video lectures, written materials, and resources for customers who want to learn more. You can also engage with students via live chat or email support if they have questions.
● Once you’ve picked your dates and scheduled your course launch, it’s time to promote your online course. Choose a few social media sites and pay-per-click advertising platforms(Google Ads, FB ads, Bing ads, etc.) that your target audience will most likely visit.
Start a blog and monetize it through affiliate marketing or advertising.
This is the most apparent side hustle out there. However, if you’re like me and need help getting words on the page, there might be other choices. If you have a knack for graphic design or web development, starting a blog might be the thing. Blogs can be started for free using a platform like WordPress, and services like Squarespace allow you to get up and running on your domain in no time.
However, you’ll still need to consider branding, promoting your site, driving traffic (think: content marketing), getting people interested in your writing, and more. If you’re willing to put in the work (and can develop relationships with advertisers), this could be a great way to make money on the side.
Become a virtual assistant
Online assistants manage everything from social media to research, grocery shopping, and buying items they can’t find at local shops. Virtual assistants are in demand for running errands, picking up groceries, and managing social media, especially as more businesses and individuals looking to outsource work.
Buy/Sell Crypto Currencies
Investing in cryptocurrencies is the fastest way to make money on the side. If you’re not familiar with cryptocurrency, it’s an online currency that uses blockchain technology and cryptography as its basis. When you invest in crypto, you buy a digital currency like bitcoin or Ethereum (or another crypto), which can be used for buying things online or sold for cash. Cryptocurrencies are also gaining popularity because they offer greater privacy than traditional currencies—which means no one knows who owns them!
You should start by researching what types of cryptocurrencies are available before investing any significant amount of money into them; this will help keep your investment safe from inflationary spikes and other risks associated with investing in any asset class without knowing beforehand how much trouble it is involved overall. Become an Instagram influencer
Becoming an Instagram influencer can be a great way to make money on the side, but it’s not easy. You need to grow your following and build relationships with brands that want to sponsor you. Here are some tips for getting started:
● Be authentic—don’t try too hard or oversell yourself! Don’t post anything that isn’t true about yourself or your life because that will only hurt your credibility with fans. Instead of talking about how much money you make as an Instagrammer (which may not be true), share photos from when you were young growing up in Croatia and share them with family members who had moved there from America—this shows fans what kind of person they’re dealing with here instead of just another millennial trying hard not to work too much but still living off their parents’ generosity without having any real experience under their belt yet anyway…
Rent out a spare room on Airbnb
Before you roll your eyes, hear us out. To make this work, you don’t have to live in a big city—or in a house. If you have a spare room that’s not in use all the time, you can turn that into an Airbnb to bring in some extra cash. The revenue may not be as consistent as some of the other gigs on this list, but it’s a simple way to rent a room, and if you’re working a 9-to-5, you can manage it without needing to hire anyone to look after your space when you’re not there.
Participate in Surveys and Focus groups
A survey or focus group is a gathering of people invited to provide feedback about a specific product or service. Most of the time, it involves sharing your opinion about a particular brand, advertising campaign, or consumer behavior. As someone who participates in these groups, you will be asked to provide your opinion about a specific product, advertising campaign, or consumer behavior. Be prepared to share your views and thoughts with the group, which may be recorded and possibly shared with others.
