South Jordan Dry Eye LipiFlow & Eye-Light Diagnosis & Treatment Expanded

ClearVision Institute (385-222-2020), a full-service eye care center in South Jordan, UT, has updated its treatment services for individuals with dry eye syndrome.

With this update, ClearVision Institute offers medical procedures for individuals suffering from Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), a blockage that results in an imbalance in the components of a person’s tears and causes dry eyes.

As part of the expansion, the eye care center now offers Eye-Light and LipiFlow treatments to MGD patients who have not gotten relief from other treatments, like eye drops or nutritional therapies.

ClearVision explains that dry eye occurs when the eye’s tear ducts produce either low-quality or insufficient tears to keep a person’s eyes moisturized. The oily component of tears produced by the Meibomian glands can clog the glands, causing insufficient or low-quality tears and leading to a burning or scratchy sensation in the eyes.

ClearVision recommends that anyone with dry eye symptoms get an exam to determine the treatment needed. One of the options offered at the vision center is the Eye-Light treatment, which starts with applying light pulses to the area surrounding the eyes and the cheekbones to warm the eyelids. In the second step of the treatment, a protective mask covers the face while low-level light therapy melts any congealed oil in the Meibomian glands so that oil production and release can occur.

ClearVision also offers LipiFlow treatment to help relieve dry eye syndrome by opening and clearing blocked glands, allowing the body to resume the natural production of the oils needed for the tear film. This procedure warms and massages the eyelids without touching the surface of the eye to dissolve gland obstructions and motivate the natural flow of oils from the Meibomian glands.

With decades of experience, Dr. Bala Ambati, Dr. Charles Kinney, and Dr. Leonardo Coelho provide full-service vision care for their patients with both eye emergencies and scheduled appointments. They explain every exam and treatment in detail to keep their patients well-informed.

ClearVision works with vision insurance providers and also offers vision financing options.

A spokesperson for ClearVision states, “Our mission is to provide compassionate, personalized care with skill and advanced technology. We endeavor to enrich health, share knowledge, and provide hope with exceptional care and education to achieve a lifetime of healthy vision.”
